INGREDIENTS (INCI)
Grass Fed Beef Tallow, Organic Jojoba Oil, Helichrysum Essential Oil, Blue Tansy Essential Oil, Chamomile Essential Oil
What is Bootin' the Blues tallow balm?
Bootin' the Blues is a whipped grass-fed beef tallow balm made for sensitive, reactive and redness-prone skin. Unlike synthetic moisturisers loaded with fillers, it uses only five natural ingredients grass-fed beef tallow, organic jojoba oil, blue tansy essential oil, helichrysum essential oil and chamomile essential oil. Tallow's fat profile is almost identical to human skin, making it one of the most bioavailable moisturisers available. No synthetic fragrance, no preservatives, no nasties.
Is tallow balm good for sensitive skin, and redness?
Bootin' the Blues was specifically formulated for skin that reacts badly to conventional skincare. Grass-fed beef tallow is rich in vitamins A, D, E and K and has a lipid structure almost identical to our own skin cells meaning it absorbs without irritating. Organic Blue tansy essential oil gives the balm its distinctive colour and is widely used in natural skincare for sensitive and reactive skin. Helichrysum and chamomile round out the blend. Many customers with eczema, rosacea, perioral dermatitis and general skin sensitivity use it as their daily moisturiser. Bootin' the Blues is a skincare product, not a medicine, and we make no therapeutic claims.
Can I use Bootin the Blues tallow balm on my face?
Yes. Bootin the Blues works well as a natural facial moisturiser, especially for dry, sensitive, red or reactive facial skin. Because tallow is so compatible with human skin biology, it absorbs without leaving a heavy greasy residue. Use a pea-sized amount warmed between your fingertips and press gently into clean skin morning or night. It is particularly popular as a natural alternative to steroid creams and synthetic facial moisturisers for people with reactive skin conditions.
Is beef tallow balm safe for babies and children?
Tallow balm is one of the most popular natural skincare options for babies and young children precisely because of its simplicity. Bootin the Blues contains organic essential oils blue tansy, helichrysum and chamomile so we recommend patch testing on a small area first and avoiding the eye area. For very young babies or broken skin, check with your healthcare provider before use. Our Whip crackin whipped tallow balm contains no essential oils if you prefer a fragrance-free option for little ones.
How is Bootin the Blues different from Whip crackin and Phat balm?
All three Outback Tallow Co balms are made with grass-fed beef tallow but they are blended for different skin needs. Bootin the Blues is our sensitive skin balm formulated with organic blue tansy oil, helichrysum and chamomile for reactive, red and irritated skin. Whip crackin is our everyday full-body whipped tallow balm for deep all-over moisture. Phat balm is our concentrated firm balm designed for seriously dry, cracked or rough skin like heels, hands and elbows. Not sure which one is right for you? If your skin is sensitive or reactive, start with Bootin the Blues.
Where is Bootin the Blues made and where does the tallow come from?
Outback Tallow Co is proudly Australian owned. Bootin the Blues is formulated and developed in Australia and manufactured to our exact specifications. Our beef tallow is sourced from grass-fed cattle. Grass-fed tallow has a superior nutritional profile, with higher levels of fat-soluble vitamins and a better omega fatty acid ratio than conventional tallow. We believe what goes on your skin matters as much as what goes in your body.
